Huawei has just dropped their new flagship and it's really impressive. This is Huawei's reaction to the note 8 and iPhone 10 but doesn't be fooled, it has a price to match. The Mate 10 Pro was released in South Africa with a very similar price to the iPhone 8, starting at R17,999.
After we saw that Huawei had a collaboration with Porsche on the mate 10 Pro we had to see if the device looked as sexy as the cars do. The phone basic Mate 10 Pro is a good looking phone but the phone feels very premium when you hold the Mate 10 Pro in your hands the feel of the Porsche design and the vertical stripe on the back is reminiscent of the Porsche Gt’s racing stripe.
Anyway before a fawn over the design more here are the 5 reasons we love the mate 10 Pro:
Battery The Mate 10 Pro sports a 4,000mAh battery to power its extensive hardware features, offering a full day of heavy use on a single charge.
The massive battery being paired with the power-efficient Kirin 970 processor means Mate 10 Pro users can go further on a single charge without sacrificing functionality.
Huawei SuperCharge and Smart Power Management are also supported by the device.
Photography Huawei has continued its partnership with Leica with the Mate 10 Pro, equipping the device with a dual-lens camera system.
The device’s camera boasts Optical Image Stabilisation and support for low-light photography, but its AI functionality is what sets it apart from the competition.
A suite of features such as object and scene recognition and intelligent bokeh effects make the Huawei Mate 10 the perfect smartphone for photography enthusiasts.
Performance The Huawei Mate 10 Pro’s processor comprises an octa-core CPU and 12-core GPU, paired with 6GB RAM.
This delivers responsive performance across all applications and supports extreme multi-tasking.
The Mate 10 Pro is a powerful flagship device which can handle complex operations like advanced photo editing without breaking a sweat.
The AI Huawei’s Kirin 970 chip boasts a dedicated neural processor, allowing it to perform AI-focused tasks 25-times more efficiently and 50-times faster than standard quad-core processors.
This translates to improved performance in a variety of situations, such as object identification and smart camera features.
The AI processing is done on the Kirin 970’s dedicated NPU instead of using cloud computing – which means your data stays private and secure, and never leaves your device.
Design In what is the latest leading smartphone design trend, Huawei has opted for a slim, bezel-less design for its Mate 10 Pro.
The Mate 10 Pro boasts a 2,160 x 1,080 AMOLED display which offers high pixel density and color accuracy.
The device also supports the HDR10 display standard, offering excellent contrast and brightness levels.
