Xbox Series X and S stock could be delayed in South Africa
Prima Interactive, the South African distributor of Xbox consoles announced that certain stores may receive their stock of the Xbox Series X and Series S late.
“Due to some unforeseen logistical challenges, some stores in South Africa may receive their stock of the new Xbox Series X and Series S on Launch Day or possibly a day late,” said the company in a statement.
The distributor also noted that stock had not been shipped sooner due to global embargoes on product releases like this.
“There are always embargos on the release of products like this with a worldwide release date. There is a very small window to get the stock out to stores, and sometimes despite the best plans, delays occur.”
According to Prima, the stock has already been shipped to store but may only arrive on launch day or one day after and that all pre-orders will be met.
“If you haven’t received notification that it’s ready for collection or been shipped, please check with the store you ordered at for an update.”
The company apologised for the inconvenience and said it is working hard with its logistics partner to limit delays as much as possible as ?the launch date for the consoles in South Africa is on the 10 November.
The Xbox Series X will retail for R11 999. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S will cost R6 999.
