WhatsApp to add Fingerprint lock feature for Android
WhatsApp will reportedly soon be launching a fingerprint unlock feature for Android users.
This is according to a report by WhatsApp feature leaker WABetaInfo which stated that this feature will finally come to Android just a few months after it was introduced to iPhones a few months ago.
The report further stated that WhatsApp is testing the feature in beta for smartphones that run Android 6.0 Marshmallow and above that include a fingerprint sensor.
Once users have selected the “unlock with fingerprint” option in settings, Android users will soon be able to prevent access to WhatsApp from all but their own fingerprint.
To try out the feature, users must update to version 2.19.221 of the WhatsApp Android beta.
In addition to this, WeBetainfo added that the Dark Mode feature for Android will be available in the next few months.
