Capegate Shopping Centre is bringing warmth, flavour and connection to the table with its Sip & Social: Mother’s Day Edition, set to take place on Saturday, 10 May 2025 from 10am to 1pm at Ocean Basket.
Designed to celebrate the women who hold families together, the event blends relaxed dining with a personal touch, creating a moment worth remembering. From a guided sushi masterclass to heartfelt conversation over wine and lunch, it’s not your typical restaurant booking, it’s a shared experience and an opportunity to create a memory with Mom.
“Mother’s Day is one of the few times in the year when families intentionally pause,” says Zoe Enslin, Marketing Manager at Capegate Shopping Centre. “We wanted to offer something meaningful. Not just a seat at the table, but an opportunity to connect, reflect and enjoy each other in a simple but special way.”
Guests will be welcomed by the day’s host, Lucia Dramat, a speaker known for her candid warmth and uplifting presence. Lucia will ease the crowd into the day with a short introduction, setting the tone for connection and celebration.
The centrepiece of the morning is a hands-on sushi masterclass, led by an Ocean Basket sushi chef. Guests will learn the art of rolling sushi with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and will enjoy their creations as a starter. A bottle of wine, still and sparkling water will be provided on each table, along with the essentials for a laid-back, enjoyable experience.
After the masterclass, Lucia returns to deliver a short, personal talk that pays tribute to the strength, love and quiet resilience that define motherhood. Guests will then enjoy a sit-down lunch, with time to share stories, laughter and, most importantly, each other.
