Sony launches new Xperia 5
Sony unveiled its new Xperia 5 device at the IFA 2019 event in Berlin, Germany.
The device features a 6.1 inch OLED display with 2520×1080 resolution, 1:9 aspect ratio, weighs 164 grams and will come with Android 9 Pie.
Powered by a 3140mAh battery, it also features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that can be increased a microSD card too.
The device comes with a triple camera array with a 12MP f/2.4 wide-angle lens camera, a 12MP f/1.6 standard lens camera, and a 12MP f/2.4 portrait lens camera. All these are now mounted on the side of the phone.
It also has an 8MP selfie camera, has no headphone jack but has NFC, USB-C 3.1, Bluetooth 5.0 and aptX support.
For security, the device has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
South African pricing and availability for the Sony Xperia 5 has yet to be announced.
