Samsung launches its new Galaxy Watch Active2 Under Armour Edition
Samsung announced that it has officially launched its Galaxy Watch Active2 Under Armour Edition.
This special edition watch is designed for people that love to run and want to improve their running fitness and form, with unique features that provide a connected running experience.
Made in collaboration with Under Armour, the watch connects to a new pair of their UA Hovr running shoes and without the need for a phone, runners can do what they couldn’t do before.
This includes:
- Cadence-based, real-time form coaching
- Premium access to the world’s largest fitness community – MapMyRun
- This helps create an ecosystem experience that brings runners accurate data, more intuitive coaching and better overall exercise experiences.
- Six months of free MapMyRun Premium Membership access, with training plans, is included with the watch.
“We’re pleased to partner with Under Armour. They are a brand wholly focussed on meaningful fitness goals, which is why we designed the Galaxy Watch Active2 with unique features to amplify the experience of running, monitoring performance and improving overall well-being. It’s a unique and exciting synergy between technology and footwear, ” said Justin Hume, Director: Integrated Mobility at Samsung South Africa.
Exclusively on Galaxy Watch Active2 Under Armour Edition, when the smartwatch is paired with the UA HOVR running shoes, users also get real-time stats on stride length and real-time form coaching, improving the users’ overall fitness performance and technique as if running alongside a coach. This real-time feedback is only available on Galaxy Watch Active and Active2.
Using data from Galaxy Watch Active2 or from Under Armour Connected Footwear, users will see visual feedback and hear audio cues during workouts, which will help them improve their stride, maintain their pace and continue on the path to conquer their fitness goals.
Post-workout, users receive in-depth form analysis and detailed coaching tips on their smartphone, giving users a perspective on running form that is not available in any other product.
During workouts, the watch display will optimise for key data such as heart rate, pace and form, so users can view real-time stats to track their progress against the plan.
When the watch is paired with the Samsung Galaxy Buds+, This allows users to hear audio coaching cues throughout the workout to guide them towards their goals and The Galaxy Buds+ can also be used to listen to pre-loaded music.
The watch also comes with Samsung Pay, so you can safely load all your bank cards on your watch and then purchase smoothies or water while or when you're done running.
