REVIEW: The Western Digital WD_Black P10 5TB drive is great value for money
Western Digital is one of the world’s leading global data storage brands and we here at Guzzle had the opportunity to review the company's WD_Black P10 5TB drive.
Not many people may see the need for an external hard drive but it comes in handy when you need to store files (images, videos, documents, etc), for adding storage to a laptop or system that is fit to burst or in my case some extra space to store games.
The WD Black P10 offers up to 5TB of capacity, plenty of rugged style, and some impressive performance specs too.
It's certainly worthy of consideration when it comes to expanding the amount of storage available to you on your games console – you can play games on the old and new gen consoles such as Playstation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
The drive is also compatible with Windows and macOS, so it works as an external storage locker for your laptop or desktop computer too.
This is also a drive that's impressively slim and lightweight with the dimensions being 4cm in Width, 10 cm in depth, 14cm in height and 0,3 kg in weight.
You don't get anything in the way of software on the disk drive, but utility software is available on the Western Digital website if you need them.
When transferring about 1 TB of video files from this drive to an internal drive, the speed was ranging from 50 MB/s to 105 MB/s using a USB 3.0 cable which was plugged into a USB 3.0 port on my desktop running Windows 10 Pro.
Overall, If you're after lots of space for your files at an affordable price, packed into a drive with respectable performance, then we'd say the WD Black P10 does a very good job indeed.
The drive is available to purchase on Everyshop and Incredible Connection for R2399.
