RCS expands its 30 000-large shopping network with Bounty Brands partnership agreement
RCS, the consumer finance arm of global bank, BNP Paribas has announced its most recent partnership with Bounty Brands – the holding company behind some of South Africa’s most ubiquitous clothing names.
This strategic development aligns with its aims to make store credit more widely accessible to the broader South African market by expanding its extensive shopping network.
For Gavin Lomberg, Chief Commercial Officer at RCS, the partnership with Bounty Brands is, “a milestone on the RCS roadmap to broaden our merchant network, expand our card acceptance landscape and offer an enhanced customer proposition”.
In the Bounty Brands stable are names that have become synonymous with urban and utility fashion, among them being JEEP, Hurley, Vans, Reebok, Superdry and Diesel. These brands will now become part of a shopping network of over 30 000 stores, accessible with the RCS store card.
In their own right, each of these brands has chartered new territory within the South African apparel market, evolving to suit changing consumer demands and the influence of international and global trends. Together, these brands speak the language of different types of South Africans from surfers and outdoor enthusiasts to socialites and industry trend-setters.
“Many of the brands we now have onboard are positioned as ‘lifestyle’ brands and are just as much about the aesthetic value of fashion as they are about the culture that underpins it. Never has there been a better way to cater to the tastes and style preferences of different people than through this powerful partnership,” comments Lomberg.
RCS store card holders can shop these new brands on credit and gain access to flexible payment options. Consumers can manage their account digitally via the RCS App, from anywhere and at any time.
According to Warren Bowers, Managing Director of Bounty Apparel, the partnership agreement with RCS was “intuitive and perfectly timed to suit the current needs of consumers as well as the economic climate. Our customers now have an added credit option as well as access to South Africa’s largest network of retailers. We’re also excited about what this means for RCS’s existing customer base, who now have an even larger degree of choice when it comes to high-quality and on-trend fashion.”
