Col'Cacchio unveils new Cannabis pizza range

CAPE TOWN – Col'Cacchio, the Italian-inspired restaurant franchise known for its wood-fired pizzas and pastas announced a new partnership with CBD brand Africanpure to combine their respective expertise to introduce South Africa's very first Cannabis pizza range.

This comes after the Department of Health announced that Cannabidiol (CBD) may now be legally purchased in SA.

The Col’Cacchio menu will feature two gourmet Cannabis inspired pizzas, namely the Green Goddess and the Not-So-Plain Mary Jane, which will be retailed at R125 and R140 respectively.

The new Cannabis pizza range will be available at most of the Col’Cacchio restaurants, excluding the Windhoek and Halaal restaurants.

The two pizzas will be drizzled with Africanpure CBD oil, which contains no THC or synthetic chemicals.

The restaurant added that customers can also add CBD oil to any other dish on the Col’Cacchio menu at an additional cost of R25.

Kinga Baranowska, Col’Cacchio co-founder said in a statement: “At Col’Cacchio, we have always aimed to be innovative with our menu offering and provide our loyal fan base with the latest health positive trends. We love to stay ahead of the curve and are extremely proud to be the first restaurant in SA to launch a Cannabis pizza and look forward to seeing old and new faces in our restaurants coming in to try this exciting new range."
