Xiaomi launches new Xiaomi 12 series range
Xiaomi announced the launch of the all-new flagship Xiaomi 12 Series for global markets, featuring three devices: Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12X.
According to the company, the new Xiaomi 12 Series delivers impressive advancements in Xiaomi’s AI algorithm, flagship processing power, and an all-around elevated experience.
All three devices offer vivid viewing on an AMOLED Dot Display rated A+ by DisplayMate, and with TrueColor support. For added peace of mind, the display features scratch-resistant Corning GorillaGlass Victus and supports Dolby Vision
Xiaomi 12 Series enables users to record studio-quality shots no matter the scenario, be it challenging lighting conditions or moving objects.
All three phones boast a pro-grade triple camera array for versatile shooting, starring a massive 50MP main wide-angle camera, with 8K recording capabilities on both Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi 12.

All three devices come with UFS 3.1 exceptional loading and data transfer speeds, along with LPDDR5 RAM for memory speeds up to 6,400Mbps.
Available on all three devices, One-click AI Cinema offers numerous creative options for show-stopping video editing, such as Parallel World, Freeze Frame Video, and Magic Zoom modes.

Xiaomi 12X
The Xiaomi 12X features a 6.28-inch display that measures just 69.9mm in width and is accented by smooth curves for a perfect fit.
Xiaomi 12X is powered by the flagship 5G processor – Snapdragon® 870 – for smooth everyday usage and comes with a 4,500mAh battery.
The device supports 67W wired turbocharging and features a 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera, along with a 5MP telemacro camera, for filming life from different perspectives.
Xiaomi 12
The Xiaomi 12 features a petite 6.28in AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate and weighs just 180g.
It also features an in-display fingerprint scanner, plus Gorilla Glass Victus on top to ward off scratches.
Inside the phone, you'll find the brand-new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, powered by a 4500mAh battery, and it supports 67W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless.
The main lens is a 50Mp Sony IMX766 - a 1/1.56in sensor with 2.0μm large pixels and OIS - a 13Mp ultrawide and a 50mm-equivalent 5Mp telemacro camera.
Xiaomi 12 Pro
Compared to the Xiaomi 12X and Xiaomi 12, the big difference of course is the size of the 12 Pro.
The 12 Pro uses a 6.73” WQHD+ display, which also runs at a higher resolution and uses LTPO tech to provide a dynamic refresh rate.
It also features a slightly bigger battery - 4600mAh - but charging is improved more, with 120W wired speeds.
Xiaomi 12 Pro stands out with its state-of-the-art triple 50MP array, which features a cutting-edge Sony IMX707 ultra-large main sensor.
This sensor is capable of catching large amounts of light and empowers advanced imaging capabilities with faster focus speeds and increased colour accuracy.
The other two lenses are even more improved: there's an ultrawide and a 2x zoom telephoto, both of which also use 50Mp sensors.
South African pricing and availability is yet to be announced.
