Showmax now comes with a mobile-only plan for R49 per month
MultiChoice announced that it has launched a new mobile-only plan for Showmax valued at R49.
The company stated that the new plan would only allow users to view content on a single mobile device, it won't have HD streaming, it will include live sport, sport magazine shows, and sports documentaries.
The package can be cancelled at any time and offer a 14-day free trial with recurring payment.
“This is all about an African service developing a solution that meets the needs of African consumers. Customer feedback consistently points to local content and sport as some of the things that people value most from Showmax,” said MultiChoice Connected Video CEO Niclas Ekdahl.
“With all of that content now available in a product designed specifically for mobile usage, we’re doing something no other service can offer."
Additionally, it also partnered with Vodacom to offer a promotional monthly package for Vodacom customers.
The promotion is priced at R99 per month and includes a mobile-only Showmax subscription with 2GB of mobile data every month.
The Vodacom promotional plan will be billed through Vodacom and includes a Showmax Mobile monthly subscription and 2GB of Showmax mobile data per month.
Showmax’s mobile plan is currently available in Nigeria, Kenya, and South Africa and users can sign up on the company's website.
