RCS partners with Superbalist, bolsters e-commerce offering
RCS, the consumer finance arm of global bank BNP Paribas, has proudly announced its latest strategic partnership with leading online fashion retailer Superbalist.com. The new partnership, which was made official on 1 November 2021, saw RCS being listed as a tender type on the online store’s checkout page.
Deven Moodley, Executive of Retail Partnerships at RCS explains, this means that customers will be able to use their RCS Store Cards (which includes all co-branded cards) to make online purchases. “Online shopping has grown exponentially in South Africa over recent years, more so during the pandemic, which is why RCS has accelerated its digital transformation strategy. We are actively looking for more ways to increase our customer offering to include more online shopping options. The partnership will also enable us to reach a younger, more urban market to enable them with credit and payment options.”
RCS Store Cardholders who shop at Superbalist.com will have the option of interest-free repayment within 55 days, or flexible repayment terms up to 36 months.
As one of South Africa’s fastest growing online shopping hubs, Superbalist.com’s shopping catalogue ranges from fashion, footwear, accessories, beauty and home and living products from over 450 own, local and international brands which cater to men, women and kids. Since entering the South African online retail market, Superbalist.com has grown exponentially and is currently South Africa’s number 1 online fashion retailer.
“We pride ourselves in being a customer-centric brand and strive to give consumers a shopping experience that is fast, convenient and secure. Having RCS as a payment partner adds to that great shopping experience for RCS customers who were previously unable to use their store cards on South Africa's favourite online fashion retailer,” said David Cohen, co-CEO at Superbalist.com. “Since launching RCS on our platform we’ve seen a number of customers using RCS as a payment method. We expect to see these numbers increase as we approach our biggest shopping event of the year, The Black Friday Showdown, which happens on 26 November,” said Cohen.
Moodley says that this latest partnership is in line with RCS’s overarching objective of enhancing the lifestyle of each and every South African. “Customer centricity and digital transformation remain two of the key focus areas for RCS. Ultimately, we want to meet the needs of all our existing customers while expanding our customer base. Opening up more online payment options is one of the ways in which we can ensure that our customers get better value and convenience. It also allows us to offer value to a younger market.”
As the country’s leading retail credit solutions provider, RCS is stridently extending its digital offering even further. “Partnering with online retail giant Superbalist.com is just one of the ways in which we are opening up avenues to meet our customers’ needs,” concludes Moodley.
