Nestle to discontinue Nesquik in South Africa
Nestlé has announced that its popular flavoured milk powder drink, Nesquick will be discontinued in South Africa.
"Nesquik will no longer be produced in South Africa and thus discontinued. Nestlé understands that this may disappoint some consumers," the company said.
Due to low demand and a drop in sales on the local market, the brand had decided to remove Nesquick Chocolate and Strawberry flavours (250g and 500g) from August 21, 2023.
Nestlé SA did however add that they will continue to stock our shelves with Milo, Hot Chocolate and coco drinks.
"These brands have shown remarkable performance and consumer loyalty, making them the focus of Nestlé's efforts to build a healthier and sustainable business for the future," it said.
“We remain committed to bringing innovation to the cocoa malt beverages category, and we are eager to improve and introduce new products that will be hitting the shelves soon,” said Takudzwa Mupfurutsa, business executive officer of dairy for Nestlé East and Southern Africa.
