HMD unveils Nokia C10 and C20 to South Africa
HMD Global has announced that the new Nokia C10 and C20 smartphones will launch in South Africa this month.
The entry-level smartphones were announced at a global event in April and are aimed at budget-conscious consumers.
"Bringing amazing value, the C-series makes high-quality smartphone technology accessible to everyone. The latest additions to the popular range bring forward much-loved features like the wide 6.5” HD+ display, at amazing price points," said HMD in a statement.
"With Android 11™(Go edition), adding up to 20% faster speeds, and improved security features, as well as Nokia smartphone durability with quarterly security updates for two years."
HMD stated that the Nokia C20 is an ultra-high value smartphone that comes with standout features that include the front and rear LED flash to capture those special moments even in low-light.
HMD also added that the Nokia C10 is the most affordable device of the new portfolio with superior build quality in a sleek Nordic design, it arrives in the portfolio as a result of rigorous testing. The ergonomic casing with a micro-texture finish will ensure it’s truly built to last.
Both devices feature 6.5-inch HD+ displays, a 5MP front camera, and a 5MP main camera. They also have 1GB of RAM, 16GB of on-board storage, are dual-sim and are powered by a 3000mAh battery.
However, the Nokia C20 has a faster processor which is the octa-core CPU with speeds up to 1.6GHz and the C10 has a quad-core CPU with speeds up to 1.3 GHz.
The C10 also supports older 3G network speeds, while the C20 has 4G support.
Both smartphones run Android 11 Go for their operating system.
The Nokia C10 will have a price of R1 499, while the Nokia C20 will cost R1 699 and both devices will come with a free phone cover and screen protector.
