Coca-Cola recalls batches of Appletiser

Coca-Cola South Africa has announced the voluntary recall of certain batches of sparkling apple juice Appletiser.
A report by IOL revealed that the company did some testing and it was recovered that these batches in question have a higher than acceptable level of patulin, which may cause illness if consumed. Patulin is a mycotoxin, a naturally occurring toxin produced by certain moulds in foods. It is usually found in fruits such as apples and apple juices that are mouldy.
The recall affects six batches of Appletiser in particular:

Consumers who purchased the Appletiser product?from these batches are urged to contact the call?centre?on?0860 112 526 and request for the collection and exchange of the product. The batch numbers can be found on the top or bottom of the pack.
