Apple to add 59 new emojis to iOS, MacOS and Apple Watch
Apple announced that it will be launching 59 new emoji for iOS, macOS and the Apple Watch in celebration of World Emoji Day.
The new emojis aim to provide diversity, with new options for people, food, animals and faces.
Apple said in a statement: "To celebrate World Emoji Day, Apple is previewing a selection of new emoji coming this fall, revealing the newest designs that bring even more diversity to the keyboard, alongside fun and exciting additions to popular categories of food, animals, activities and smiley faces."
“Following Apple’s proposal to the Unicode Consortium last year to introduce more disability-themed emoji, a new guide dog, an ear with a hearing aid, wheelchairs, a prosthetic arm and a prosthetic leg will be available in the emoji keyboard.”
Some of the new emojis to be added are garlic, yawn face, saree, one-piece swimsuit, waffles with butter, a sloth, skunk and flamingo.
The new emojis are set to arrive on Apple platforms later this year.
