Scroll, Discover, Binge: Netflix Introduces a Vertical Video Feed on Mobile
Netflix today announced an evolution of its mobile experience, designed to make finding something to watch, listen to, or play faster, easier, and more fun for members on the go.
Following a significant update to its TV experience last year, Netflix is now bringing a similar focus on simplicity and delight to mobile. The new design puts members' interests front and centre, with streamlined navigation and a visual, vertical discovery experience that feels intuitive on a phone.
A central feature of the update is ‘Clips,’ a new vertical video feed designed for the way people use their phones. ‘Clips’ presents a personalised highlight reel of short clips from series, films, and specials tailored to each member's tastes, helping them decide what to watch or play next without endless scrolling.

The ‘Clips’ feature is built to turn discovery into action with several key functionalities:
- Add to ‘My List’: Members can add films and series straight to their list from the feed.
- Share: Recommendations can be shared with friends and followers via text or social media directly from the feed.
- Explore: members can browse a world of entertainment personalised to help them decide what to press play on next, whether planning a family film night or looking for a comedy.

In the future, Netflix will expand ‘Clips’ to include podcasts, live programmes, and collections based on genres, like romance or specific interests.
“Mobile is an important part of how Netflix members stay connected to the entertainment they love. With our enhanced navigation and Clips, our new vertical video feed, we’re building on past learnings to deliver an experience designed for the way members want to enjoy Netflix on their phones: for the moments in between, to discover a new title, or a quick laugh,” said Elizabeth Stone, Netflix’s Chief Product and Technology Officer. “Our vision is to make our mobile experience as entertaining as what you watch, delivering increasingly personalised, immersive experiences for any mood or moment. This is just the beginning.”
These updates are available starting today in the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, India, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, and South Africa, and will roll out to the rest of the world in the months to come. This is the start of what Netflix is building to create a truly great entertainment experience on mobile, for every way members like to watch, listen and play.
