Review: Nintendo brings back classic game play with The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening game
For just over a month now I've had the chance to play around with The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening game on the Nintendo Switch Lite.
Firstly, I'd like to say that Nintendo deserves the credit for making a 26-year-old game feel this modern. Yes, this game is that old and was first introduced on the Game Boy.
The game starts off with our valiant hero Link being washed up on the shore of Koholint Island not knowing where he is or how he got there as it’s your job to guide Link throughout the game by succeeding in many challenges to help him escape.
The game features puzzles within dungeons and other games that involve quests to help people on the island retrieve goods and more.
With that in mind, I think that the dungeons are a high point of the game and was a bit of a frustrating experience but in a good way because even though you not sure where you going it creates a fun challenge and is satisfying when you figure it out.
The only downside of the game is that the graphics can become abit too much Switch to handle at times. I experienced frequent frame rate drops while playing and slow movements within the game.
The artwork of the game is based on the original game, so gamers can look forward to a toylike character design, bright/vibrant colours, music that is very overexaggerated and a lot of reading in pop up messages.
The price of the game is also very steep, currently on the Nintendo Distributor site the game cost R 999 but you can sign up with mobicred to get the game for R93 per month.
The game is also avilable at Makro for R899 and at loot.co.za for R883.
