REVIEW: Crocs are not just comfortable but are stylish thanks to jibbitz charms

Crocs have been around since the early 2000s, and I've never ever owned a pair before.

To be completely honest, I was very sceptical when I saw the shoes over the years because I always just thought that the shoes were not the best looking out there, but I was recently given the opportunity to review them and was up to the task because I needed to see what the hype was about since the shoe has become very popular over the years.

I went to the Crocs SA store in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town to try on a pair that I would take home to wear.

I chose the Classic Lined pair of Crocs in the colour black with six jibbitz charms to add to the shoes to give it my own personalized look.

I always heard people say that Crocs were comfortable, but I didn't really understand until I tried them on.

Crocs are not only perfect house shoes but are also great errand shoes as they are easy to slip on, supportive while cooking and cleaning, and protect your toes way better than your bedroom slippers from knocking them against the coffee table.

The Classic lined pair features faux fur on the inside of the Crocs, so it kept my feet extra warm and comfortable with socks, but it also allows your feet to still be warm even when you're not wearing socks.

Personally, I don't mind wearing them without socks around the house but when I go out, I always wear socks.

Another appealing factor of these shoes is the fact that you can clean them in seconds and even though they seem bulky because of the thick rubber, however, the shoes are surprisingly lightweight and very supportive.

Are Crocs worth buying?

I must start off by saying that I have definitely been converted, and I am now a big fan of Crocs and will definitely be buying myself more pairs.

I definitely recommend Crocs to anyone who wants a versatile shoe that's functional and comfortable. The brand has also branched out to make the shoe more fashionable by allowing you to personalize it by adding jibbitz charm.

The shoe is very durable, so it lasts long and just being able to personalise it, so it feels as if nobody would have the same looking Crocs as mine is a nice touch.

I love the comfort, lightweight feel, durability of these shoes and just how easy it is to wash.

Yes, they can be seen as expensive, but they are worth it because they last a long time. They don’t go out of shape, and they don’t break or peel or fade.

If you're not a big fan of the clog shape, Crocs also sells sandals, waterproof boots, loafers, slippers and a sneaker shape too.

Prices of Crocs depending on what style you take can range from R299 - R1,799.
