These are the five new restaurants coming to Melrose Arch

CAPE TOWN – There will be five new restaurants coming to Melrose Arch in Johannesburg this year, it will be  Rio, JB's Corner, Ono Poké Eatery, Rodizio Brazilian Grill and Tapas and Tiger's Milk.

Roast Café and The Comedy Club have closed and made way for two new restaurants.

Tony Raciti, the owner of Roast Café and The Comedy Club said in a statement:  “Roast Café and The Comedy Club opened its doors three and a half years ago. While Roast Café was a success from day one, The Comedy Club never really found its feet and it was not financially viable to keep a large space like that open for just two shows a week. I decided to move on from The Comedy Club to start something new.”

He plans to open Rodizio Brazilian Grill and Tapas. in partnership with José and Tony da Costa.

According to Raciti, A rodízio restaurant refers to a Brazilian-style steakhouse restaurant, at which customers pay a preço fixo (fixed price) for as much as they can eat.

This means that waiters will bring samples of food to customers several times throughout the meal. Once a customer has had enough to eat, they can just let the waiter know.

Café Rio is due to open at the beginning of July, while JB’s Corner is set to open end of June.

Tigers Milk and Ono Poké Eatery are also set to make their appearance, dates still need to be announced.
