PS5 could get its own wireless VR headset

CAPE TOWN – Sony has not yet announced the official release for the PlayStation 5 but rumours have surfaced as to what it could look like. 

Some analysts are predicting the PlayStation 5 release date could be around 2020 or 2021.

However, In May 2018, chief executive of Sony Interactive Entertainment John Kodera told the Wall Street Journal that there would be no PS5 before 2021.

There are not many rumours or leaks on the console but according to a new patent, that was published on the 4th of April , 2019, belonging to Sony Interactive Entertainment Inc. Tokyo, revealed that there is technology being designed for a brand-new PlayStation VR headset that includes an integrated eye tracker and delivers super powerful new foveated rendering graphics.

In other aspects of the console, Chris Kingsley, CTO and co-founder of developer Rebellion stated that he believes that the new hardware should be able to support 4K TVs and possibly even 8K TVs.

Rumours have also surfaced that the company might launch a new 5G-capable PlayStation Portable (PSP) after Sony made mention of mobile devices in a recent user survey that was based on the future of the PlayStation.
