Oppo launches new mid-range A72 smartphone in SA

Chinese tech brand Oppo announced that it will be bringing its Oppo A72 device to South Africa on 7 October.

The Oppo A72 is a mid-range smartphone that features a 6.5-inch display with a quad-camera setup.

For its main camera, the smartphone features a 48MP main lens, along with an additional 8MP lens and two 2MP lenses.

The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery and 4GB of RAM.

“This is an important moment in our collective history and through forging strong relationships with our partners, we aim to equip our society with the tools it needs to prosper.”

“We’re confident that the quality of our hardware, value-added services and our strong partnership with Google will set us apart,” says Liam Faurie, Oppo South Africa’s Business Head (GTM Operations).

The smartphone maker plans to launch its mid-range and affordable devices first, with premium devices to come to South Africa at a later date.

  • Dual Stereo Speakers and Dirac 2.0 sound.

The Oppo A72 retails for a recommended price of R6 999 in South Africa and will be available in the colours; Aurora Purple and Twilight Black.
