Local brewery Aegir Project forced to close down its Constantia Ale house

A local independent brewery called the Aegir Project announced that it will be closing its Constantia Ale house due to negative financial effects of Covid-19.

Aegir Project is an Independent Brewery based on the sunny shores of Noordhoek, Cape Town which was founded by Rory Lancellas in 2015.

Aegir Project is an authentic, welcoming and high quality brewery. The name is inspired by the legendary Aegir, who is both the Norse God of Brewing and God of the Ocean combining his love of both the sea and Proper Beer.

The company announced the news on its social media platforms.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has hit the restaurant and hospitality industry hard, and sadly we are no exception. After two years of sharing good beers, good food, and good music with you, the current restrictions have made it impossible for us to keep our heads above water any longer," said the company.

"We wanted to take this opportunity to thank all our Ale House customers for their amazing support over the years. WE LOVE YOU GUYS and can’t thank you enough!"

However, Aegir house noted that its main Taproom in Noordhoek is still operational.

"We’re still fighting for our livelihoods down at our Noordhoek Taproom, so please swing by to visit us. We’re open from 8am-8pm, serving epic coffee, breakfasts, burgers, pizzas, fish and chips, and pretty damn good 0% beer."

With the alcohol band being lifted, customers can also purchase alcoholic beverages.
