Huawei launches new band 6
Huawei announced that its new Band 6, the latest smart band will be available on Huawei’s Online (Store) and across select retailers in South Africa on the 18th of June 2021.
It will be available in two different colour variants of Graphite Black and Sakura Pink.
Justin Sun, General Manager at Huawei Consumer Business Group said in a statement, “Over the past few years there has been a significant increase in people becoming invested in their personal health and well-being, which has led to a concurrent increase in the demand for smart wearables with health monitoring and fitness tracking capabilities."
"However, the premium price of these devices is often a pain point for South Africans working on a budget. Huawei addresses this with its HUAWEI Band 6, which brings all the features seen on its smartwatch into the form factor and price of a smart band, making it more accessible to be a lot more than just a smart band. Huawei’s commitment to innovation, quality and customer service has led to the brand becoming No. 1 in the wearables market in South Africa.”
The Band 6, announced earlier this year, is the first smart band from Huawei to include a 1.47-inch AMOLED display. In fact, the display is 148% larger than the display on the Band 4.
It features a similar look to the Huawei Watch Fit, launched in South Africa last year. The screen is complemented by a colourful silicone strap.
In terms of its features, the Band 6 has a two-week battery life, TruSeen 4.0 heart-rate monitoring technology, TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring, SpO2 monitoring, and TruRelax stress tracking.
It also supports 96 sports modes and automatic exercise detection that can help up your fitness game.
When it comes to general daily convenience, you can also enjoy the ability to view incoming calls on the band’s display, control your phone’s music playback, and use the band as a remote camera shutter.
The Band 6 also allows you to customize your watch face, choosing between a variety of designs to suit your personality and style.
All-day SpO2 Monitoring
Health monitoring features are one of the most popular features for smart band users. Thanks to the hardware modules optimised, based on the Huawei TruSeenTM 4.0 and new smart power-saving algorithm, the Huawei Band 6 now supports All Day SpO2 monitoring.
It monitors users’ health and generates an alarm when the blood oxygen level is low, helping them take swift action and manage their health more proactively.
Huawei Band 6 also provides continuous, real-time, and accurate heart rate, sleep and stress monitoring. It will also alert the user if the resting heart rate is too high or too low.
Two-week battery life
Supported by a high-efficiency chipset and smart power-saving algorithms, the HUAWEI Band 6 enables continuous heart rate and sleep monitoring with 14-day battery life for uninterrupted use.
On top of this, the Band 6 supports fast charging via a magnetic charger. One five-minute charge can sustain the smart band for two days of typical use. Weighing only 18g, the HUAWEI Band 6 is a remarkable piece of kit.
