Game prepared for the lift on liquor ban

In reaction to the lift on the liquor ban, announced on 1 February 2021, Game is prepared to reopen its liquor section in all 61 stores across the country.

When the ban was previously lifted during 2020, Game’s best-selling products included beer, cider, wines, whisky, brandy and vodka.

Game stores are fully stocked on all products and have implemented stringent safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe and seamless shopping experience for all customers – including screening and sanitising upon entry, strict rules around wearing of masks and social distancing, and regularly scheduled sanitation of high-touch points within the store.

Where customers are in groups or couples, only one customer will be allowed in at a time from that group or couple.

“The safety of our staff and consumers is our top priority. We ask that consumers ensure they are wearing their masks correctly - covering both their mouth and their nose, only touch the products they intend to buy, adhere to social distancing at all times, and to pay by card or mobile app where possible,” said Game Vice President, Andrew Stein in a statement.

According to government regulations, Game stores are selling liquor Monday to Thursday, from 10:00 to 18:00.
